Artem turns 4.....

He turns 4 without a mommy and a daddy to hold him.
Without a grandma and grandpa to shower him in kisses and tell him "you are such a big boy"
Without brothers and sisters to hug him and sing him "happy birthday"
Without firends
Without cousins
Without aunts and uncles
He wont have a cake
He wont have presents
There wont be any party games

He will just go on through his day like its any "normal" day.
Maybe he will lay in a crib all day
Maybe he will be able to play with toys

I don't know

Maybe a nanny that loves him will give him extra special time on his special day
Maybe he will have a party, spent opening presents, playing games and eating cake

But it wont be with a family
There wont be a mommy and daddy taking a million pictures
There wont be brothers and sisters singing "happy birthday"
There wont be kisses and hugs from "grandma" and "grandpa"

I don't know what Artem will be doing on his 4th birthday
But I'm praying he is not spending it driving in a car on his way to an institution
4 is the "usual" age that kids get transfered
I'm praying that is not Artem's case I am praying that he is still at the baby house but I will never know....
 Will you pray with me?
Pray for Artems health, pray that he is not transferd yet, pray his family finds him soon...just pray for him

Artem 1 year and 10months old

Artem 2 years and 5months old

Artem 2 years 9 months (top) Artem 3 years 4 months (bottom)

Artem 3years and 9months
A year ago I became Artems "Prayer Warrior" for a whole year I have prayed constantly for a family for "my baby boy" but still no one has come....I don't think anyone has even inquired about him.....he has been listed on Reeces Rainbow for over 2 years now...and it breaks my heart.....he has SO much potential, I can just see it in his deep brown eyes... do you see it? He has a special sparkle in those eyes he has so much personality just look at him, look at those chubby cheeks, that sweet smile....I just love him.....he is just so precious! How in the world does he not have a family yet? How can you not want to scoop this little bundle of joy up?

Are you his mommy? Are you his daddy? Are YOU his family?
If you would like more information about Artem please email me at lovefortheorphan@aol.com
I will answer any questions you have

Happy Birthday my baby boy, you are so very special to me I can't wait for Jesus to show your family that you are THEIR baby boy, I love you Artem

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone and Merry Christmas to "my" little angels: Jillian, Sophia, Andrew, Rebekah, Artem, Lilianna, Oleg and sweet Kevin who gets to spend Christmas with Jesus this year... All of my little angels are on the angel tree (except Oleg and Kevin) and have all received many donations I am so happy that "my'' babies grants are growing and that it will bring them that much closer to a forever family

Sweet Jillian:
Has an Angel Tree grant of $1,000 giving her a total of $1,162
From a missionary who visited with her recently:   "Jillian develops very quickly… loves to learn, is curious and likes to study outside world. She is emotional and active, can do a lot by herself. But she does not walk, not yet. Lively and caring girl needs parents and love and care of which she will learn even more."
She will be 6 in February and needs a family very soon.

Handsome Andrew:

Has an Angel Tree grant of $1,060 giving him a total of $2,065
"Diagnosis: DS, undetermined mental deficiency, umbilical hernia of small size, deviation of nasal septum, connatal stridor (wheeze),allergic dermatitis.
SINGLE MOMS WELCOME!" Andrew is in the same region that my little brother Vahnya was in. He turned 4 in September and needs a family quickly

Beautiful Sophia:

Has an Angel Tree grant of $556 giving her a total of $2154.50 "Miss Sophia is a real doll baby too!   She was born with an oval window, and she does have some strabismus, but she is growing well and is a happy and content child." Sophia turned 4 in November and would be a great addition to any family. Look at those sweet "pigtails".

My boy Artem:
Has an Angel Tree grant of $1,575 making his grant a total of $3,259
From a missionary who visited with him recently:  SWEETY SWEETY SWEETY!  Look at photos, what an amazing progress he made!  For now little Artem is weak and less developed than kids at his age. But Artem has hidden ability to speak: he can repeat parts of words for long time and always includes into his speach some new sounds!   This is a special kid that needs additional care and attention. He needs to become strong and gather all things that he has been taught by caregivers, but soon he will learn everything which is needed for his age and he will  blossom. Artem is the first child that I became a warrior for (in January) and he has totally got my heart with his deep brown eyes and sweet smile! Are you his family?

Precious princess Lilianna:

Has an Angel Tree grant of  $2010.03 giving her a total of $2068.53 "Sweet little Lilianna has a congenital heart defect (ASD and VSD) and possible pulmonary issues. She is also missing her left forearm entirely.  DS Q90,Q21.1,Q21.0,Q70,K43.9, F82.0   Lilianna has bright blue eyes and needs a family right away.  We have many pictures of her!" Lilianna is such a gorgeous little princess just look at her...is she your daughter?
Baby Rebekah:

Has an Angel Tree grant of $1,580 making her grant a total of $1,719.87
"MANY more pictures available!!! Rebekah has a heart defect, she has an open oval window of 4 mm". Rebekah is such a sweet baby girl look at this new picture of her, is she not perfect? She is the youngest of "my babies" but still needs a family just as much. Look at her sweet little smile and those sparkling eyes she will be 2 in January. Is she your baby girl?

Please be praying for all of these sweet children they all need families to call their own, please save them from a life of neglect! Are one of these precious babies you child? Then email Andrea over at RR to inquire about them (or comment on this post and I will direct you to Andrea)or any other child listed on RR... maybe next Christmas they will be home with their forever family maybe that family is YOURS! If God is not calling you to adopt then maybe he is calling you to pray or donate to a child on RR. I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!

"Dear babies, I hope you had a great Christmas.....I'm not sure if you know what Christmas is but I hope you got a little extra love today, I am praying so hard that your families find you soon and you can be home next Christmas, I love you guys so much even though I have never met you. I hope someday I will have the amazing chance to be able to give you all hugs and to kiss your little heads.....I love you all so very very much"

October is.......

October is Down Syndrome Awarness month! And all of "my" angels have Down syndrome! There is somehthing I would like you all to know if you do not know already, Down syndrome is beautiful, people with DS are more ALIKE then different. People sporting that extra chromosome are, loveable, kind, gentle, smart, caring, sweet, helpful and independent. They go to school, they learn to ride bikes and play games, they can drive a car, and have jobs and so much more! People with DS have feelings just like you and I they feel hurt, joy, sadness, and love (and all the other feelings) And it hurts them and their families when people say the "r-word" When someone hears the r-word and they have a sibling or family member with DS its like a stab in the gut and I know because my brother has Down syndrome and my friend Ashley (who has a little sister with DS) said "Even if I'm in a crowded room and its loud and just one person says the r-word its the only thing I hear" The r-word hurts and it dosn't only hurt families that have someone with Down syndrome in their life it also hurts other families too families that have angels with other special needs in their life! So think about who you may hurt before you speak because you never know who is hurting inside when you say that word! Here are some facts about Down Syndrome:

What is Down Syndrome?

"Down syndrome is a genetic condition that causes delays in physical and intellectual development. It occurs in one in every 691 live births. Individuals with Down syndrome have 47 chromosomes instead of the usual 46. It is the most frequently occurring chromosomal disorder. Down syndrome is not related to race, nationality, religion or socioeconomic status. The most important fact to know about individuals with Down syndrome is that they are more like others than they are different."

Diagnosis

"Down syndrome is usually identified at birth or shortly thereafter. Initially the diagnosis is based on physical characteristics that are commonly seen in babies with Down syndrome. These include low muscle tone, a single crease across the palm of the hand, a slightly flattened facial profile and an upward slant to the eyes. The diagnosis must be confirmed by a chromosome study (Some children do not have all of these characteristics)"

Learning & Development

"It is important to remember that while children and adults with Down syndrome experience developmental delays, they also have many talents and gifts and should be given the opportunity and encouragement to develop them.
Most children with Down syndrome have mild to moderate impairments but it is important to note that they are more like other children than they are different. Early Intervention services should be provided shortly after birth. These services should include physical, speech and developmental therapies. Most children attend their neighborhood schools, some in regular classes and others in special education classes. Some children have more significant needs and require a more specialized program.
Some high school graduates with Down syndrome participate in post-secondary education. Many adults with Down syndrome are capable of working in the community, but some require a more structured environment."

Health Issues

"Many children with Down syndrome have health complications beyond the usual childhood illnesses. Approximately 40% of the children have congenital heart defects. It is very important that an echocardiogram be performed on all newborns with Down syndrome in order to identify any serious cardiac problems that might be present. Some of the heart conditions require surgery while others only require careful monitoring. Children with Down syndrome have a higher incidence of infection, respiratory, vision and hearing problems as well as thyroid and other medical conditions. However, with appropriate medical care most children and adults with Down syndrome can lead healthy lives. The average life expectancy of individuals with Down syndrome is 55 years, with many living into their sixties and seventies."
