Meet the Davis'

I am here to introduce Artem's family to all of you! They are everything I have hoped for for Artem!

Here is what their RR FSP says:
"Lorie has aspired to adopt or foster children since she was a
pproximately 13 years old. Lorie and JD Davis are 10 year veterans within the Civil Affairs community of Army Reserves. During their first deployment to Iraq in 2004, the two best friends fell in love and were married May 7th, 2005, after returning home. During their deployment, Lorie, being a member of the Public Education Team, had first hand experience in helping children of a foreign nation. This experience only made her yearn to help children even stronger. In the summer of 2005, their first child, Lorelai, was born. They looked into Foster Care, but was told that they had not been married long enough to apply, as well as they prefer you not apply during pregnancy or with a small baby at, so that more attention could be placed on the Foster Child. Instead, they put their energy into becoming volunteer youth ministers of their local church at the time in Pasadena, Tx. In 2007, JD was deployed on a second tour to Iraq, while their second child, Corbyn, was only 5 months old. This tour created hardships and trials in their marriage, and through God’s grace and mercy, they became stronger and closer than ever before. In 2008 they began volunteering as “substitute parents” for two young brothers that were living at the Boys and Girls Harbor. They would pick them up on every other weekend and some holidays, and give the boys more attention and a change of atmosphere in their lives. Months later, JD lost his job and took an Active Duty position with the Reserves, which moved them to Utah. In their first year in Utah, they had their third child, Adyson, and finally became licensed Foster Care Parents. After 6 months of waiting for a child placement, they felt God wanted Lorie and the kids to temporarily go back home to Texas and be with Family during the last few months of a family member’s life. After six months, they reunited in Utah, and shortly after became pregnant with their fourth child, Leilani. Since her birth in March, 2012 they have felt a strong urge to adopt and both of them felt the Lord possibly putting special needs children on their heart. In a weird turn of events, like only God can do, they were presented Artem around four or five times within a month. While praying for him to receive the forever family he deserves, they felt the Lord said it was them. Everyday they are overwhelmed with the many steps as well as costs of International adoption. Yet everyday, they pray to God telling him, “you have brought us to this boy, only you can make him our son.” They appreciate any and all prayers, and if you can donate to this cause, that will help too."

I cant wait for Artem to be home with his family, he is going to have so much fun playing with his siblings and I know Corbyn is going to be so happy to "finally" have a brother to play boy games with! This is the perfect family for Artem, they are the family I have been praying for for him for so long! They have alot of money to raise before bringing him home so if you feel led please do not hesitate to donate to their FSP, I know it would mean the world to them, they are also selling earing holders which are so cool! So if you are interested in any of those let me know, they will also be starting a puzzle fundraiser soon so I will let you guys all know more info about that soon!

"Introducing" Maxim

On January 17th I became an official Prayer Warrior for sweet Maxim, Maxim was born on September 15th 2004 with bright blue eyes and beautiful blond hair. At birth he was diagnosed with Down Syndrome, and he now struggles with strabismus in both eyes and a significant tongue thrust, but surgery/glasses and OT will help with that. Maxim will be EIGHT this September and from what I know he has been in the institution for quite sometime....People that have met him have said that he has a shining light in him that no one els has, and you will see that in his pictures. Maxim is playful and happy, and he would bless the socks off of a family....Just look at his smile

Here is what someone said about him when they met him in October 2011
"Maxim is one of the sweetest little boys I've ever met. He pats my arm in the most adorable, gentle way, and it absolutely melts my heart! He is now walking with very minimal assistance, and crawls faster than any other child I've ever met. He is a smart boy, and will follow directions (for example, come over to the carpet). He has an amazing attention span, and will bounce a ball back and forth with me for at least 20 minutes straight. He has the most wonderful laugh, and is a very joyful little guy! He has so much potential, someone please choose Maxim!!"

And here is what someone said when they met him in October 2010
"I don't know if I can openly share how the whole encounter went so I will just say that we were able to go and while we were there I was able to see Maxim. To hold him and love on him. To laugh as he passed gas and laughed about it. That was one of the best parts of the visit, how he thought "tooting" (is it called that when boys do it?) was just the funniest thing – just like any other 6 year old little boy would. He was so sweet and so alert and attentive to those who had come to visit with him."

Here is some more info about this sweet giggly boy
  • He can pull up to stand and walk with assistance.
  • He knows his name and responds to it.
  • He has a sweet nature, personality, and sense of humor
  • He copies hand motions (I believe he could learn to sign)
  • He can crawl
  • He likes cars! :) They said he crawls through the window to look out when the car comes to their building.

and here are some more pictures of him:

Maxim has $4715.00 please consider Maxim he is in desperate need of a family! If you have any questions you can contact me at lovefortheorphan@aol.com
